Papers published in the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics fall within the broad field of science and technology of quantum electronics of a device, subsystem, or system-oriented nature. Each issue is devoted to a specific topic within this broad spectrum. Announcements of the topical areas planned for future issues, along with deadlines for receipt of manuscripts, are published in this Journal and in the IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics. Generally, the scope of manuscripts appropriate to this Journal is the same as that for the IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics. Manuscripts are published that report original theoretical and/or experimental research results that advance the scientific and technological base of quantum electronics devices, systems, or applications. The Journal is dedicated toward publishing research results that advance the state of the art or add to the understanding of the generation, amplification, modulation, detection, waveguiding, or propagation characteristics of coherent electromagnetic radiation having sub-millimeter and shorter wavelengths. In order to be suitable for publication in this Journal, the content of manuscripts concerned with subject-related research must have a potential impact on advancing the technological base of quantum electronic devices, systems, and/or applications. Potential authors of subject-related research have the responsibility of pointing out this potential impact. System-oriented manuscripts must be concerned with systems that perform a function previously unavailable or that outperform previously established systems that did not use quantum electronic components or concepts. Tutorial and review papers are by invitation only.

September 21st, another month has passed, status stuck at Awaiting GE Decision.

Because one of the reviewers had previously emailed, it was known that the comments had been submitted long ago, it seems the editors haven't acted on it. 2023-08-16 21:53:17 評論於Submitted on June 23, reviewers were invited on August 1, and still no progress after half a month. This journal is moving at a snail's pace. Authors have to make corrections and formatting before submission, and the editorial and review process is extremely slow, making the time cost far exceed the value of the journal. If the direction is not highly recognized, it is recommended not to submit here, as it is nowhere near the speed and trend of the new national journals and co-published journals.

2020-06-23 08:22:11 評論於 JSTQE is a top journal in optical Q2. Compared with Organic Letters, the innovation requirements must be within the scope of the issue. Compared with Journal of Lightwave Technology, the content integrity must be within the scope of the issue. The number of articles published is too small. It took two months for the first review, and major revision was required (actually a minor revision, 3 reviewers and the comments were positive). One week after the submission of the revised manuscript, it was accepted. The processing speed of the editor was fast. If the innovation is not good enough, it would be rejected at the beginning. It is recommended to submit with substantial content. There is little chance of being acceptance by irregular ways. What’s more, I have heard that there were some people who submitted to this journal. The rejection rate after being sent for review is also very high. 2019-10-29 00:21:20 評論於 The reviewer was found only 2 months after submission, and the status changed from select reviewers to awaiting reviewer scores; another month later, review comments were received; both reviewers recommended accepting it with minor revisions; two weeks for revisions were given. About 10 days later, the review comments returned; 2 weeks after in the hands of the editor, it was sent to the original reviewers; due to the holiday abroad, the second review comments returned about 2 months later. The two reviewers did not have any comments for further revisions, and recommended it for a direct acceptance. The editorial office accepted it for publication. The manuscript was proofread two weeks later, and officially published in another week. It took more than 6 months from submission to publication.
